School of Business Scholarships

The School of Business Ltd (SBL) has available a fund for scholarships to SBL programmes they wish to offer those who would otherwise be excluded from furthering their education and careers due to financial and other hardship.

Financial Hardship Scholarships

Eligible candidates are those that can demonstrate the following:

  • willingness to succeed in the programme/career of interest
  • inability to afford the programme fees and related costs
  • how their own achievement and advancement will benefit others (family/whanau/hapu/iwi, workplace, industry, communities of interest)

Personal Circumstances Hardship Scholarships

Eligible candidates are those that can demonstrate the following:

  • willingness to succeed in the programme/career of interest
  • personal circumstances relating to hardship (e.g health, family & relationships, accommodation & transport difficulties)
  • how their own achievement and advancement will benefit their personal situation and others (family/whanau/hapu/iwi, workplace, industry, communities of interest)

Whakaora Scholarships

For Maori, Pasifika or anyone previously disadvantaged by the education system in Aotearoa

This scholarship seeks to redress the imbalance in access to resources and opportunities that affect people in Aotearoa based on their ethnicity, economic status or abilities. You can read more about this here.

Eligible candidates are those that can demonstrate the following:

  • willingness to succeed in the programme/career of interest
  • their past experience with schooling in Aotearoa (e.g difficulty due to disability/disorder, difficulty in attending due to health or family pressures)
  • their whakapapa to hapu/iwi in Aotearoa or Pasifika lineage (if applicable)
  • how their own advancement will benefit their personal situation and others (family/whanau/hapu/iwi, workplace, industry, communities of interest)

Note: there is a finite fund available and SBL reserves the right to offer all, some or none of the cost of study.  If the funds have closed for the current academic year, you may be requested to apply for a place for the following year.
